Side

Side is located in the town of Manavgat, 25 km from the hotel. You can use taxi or local minibus to reach Side.

About 100 kilometers east of Antalya is Side, another important port city of ancient times. Side has become a popular holiday destination in its own right, but day trips are also possible from Antalya. The village has a picturesque landscape, narrow streets, magnificent gardens and long, white beaches that invite swimming. Apollon temple

Side Monumental Fountain (Nymphaeum)

The Monumental Fountain, located in front of the main entrance of the Ancient Side City, outside the ancient Side walls, was dated to the 2nd century AD as a Roman period work. Considered the largest and most magnificent fountain of Anatolia and the Pamphylia Region, the Monumental Fountain still maintains its impressiveness and brilliance with its final state that resists time and conditions even today.

Side Museum

Side Museum in the Ancient City/ was built in the 2nd century and was built in the 5-6th century. It is located in a bathhouse that has survived to the present day with additions and changes over the centuries. The ancient bath opposite the Roman Agora was restored in 1959-1961 and turned into a museum.

The museum collection includes artifacts from the Hellenistic, Roman and Byzantine periods. Among the artifacts on display, statues, torso portraits, embossed sarcophagi and ostotheques, tomb steles, inscriptions in Greek and Side language, altars, amphorae, architravy frieze column, most of which were unearthed during the excavations of the Ancient City of Side, column header, pediment etc. architectural elements; Coins belonging to the cities of Pamflya and Pisidia and Side coins attract attention.

Side Harbor

Side marina is located in Side, the seaside town of Manavgat, right next to the ancient temple of Apollo. Although it is not a very large marina in terms of capacity, it is a marina that can accommodate a large number of boats that can meet the yacht tour and yacht charter demands of the tourists visiting the Side region. Although the marina is a small marina, the boats in the Side area are not just the boats sheltering in the Side marina. The Manavgat river, which is approximately 10 kilometers from the port, also provides a natural shelter for many boats.

Manavgat

Manavgat, with its 2283 km² area, is the second largest district of Antalya Province. Manavgat Waterfall is at the level of Manavgat River, Turkey's most regularly flowing stream. District population 242,490 (2020 census). The population of the district center is 76,605 in 2008 and 99,254 in 2012. Manaua, which was the episcopal office in Notitias, was mentioned since the 6th century, and was last seen in 1199 in the form of Manavğat (Armenian), and remained as an administrative unit during the Ottoman period. Today's district center was formed by the merging of Pazarcı and Dusenbe villages on opposite sides of the Manavgat river.[4] It is thought that the ancient cities of Side (Selimiye Village) and Selge  (Altınkaya Village) were founded in the 6th century BC. Manavgat was under the rule of the Seljuks in 1220 and the Ottoman Empire in 1472. Sultan Alaattin Keykubat named the city he conquered in 1221 as Alaiyye.

Manavgat waterfall

Manavgat Waterfall is a waterfall located on the Manavgat River in the Manavgat district of Antalya. It is 72 km from Antalya. The waterfall, which is located 3 km north of the Manavgat district and takes its name from this district, is formed by the falling of the river waters from a 3-4 m cliff. Although it is poured from a small height, it flows with a high flow over a large area. In addition, the largest of the sources feeding the Manavgat River, the karstic Dumanlı spring was trapped in the dam lake after the Oymapınar dam was built. Around the Manavgat waterfall, there are properties operating such as a picnic area available for the public and live fish restaurants within the touristic facilities. Transportation is carried out by urban transportation. Manavgat waterfall, with the Presidential decree dated March 15, 2023, as a result of the Evaluation of the Conservation Status of the Potential Natural Site, the Registration and Announcement of the Indicated Area as a Sensitive Area to be Definitively Protected[1].

Manavgat river

Manavgat, with its ancient name Melas, is a river born in the Taurus Mountains and flowing into the Mediterranean in Antalya. Its length is 93 km. It is formed by the merging of branches arising from the Western Taurus mountain range. It turns south-west, passes through narrow and steep-sided canyons, creates the famous Manavgat Waterfall, and empties into the sea from an alluvial coastal plain in the east of Manavgat town center[1]. It is the most regular river in Turkey's flow regime. Two dams have been built on it (Oymapınar Dam and Manavgat Dam), making great contributions to energy production. It still has two dams under construction. Dumanlı 1 and Dumanlı 2, one of the largest underground rivers in the world, feed the Manavgat River.

Seleukeia ancient city

The first proposed name of the ancient city, located in the Şıhlar Village of Manavgat District of Antalya Province, Seleukeia, was put forward based on the sailors' manual, Stadiasmus Maris Mayni. However, today, based on the sacred area mentioned in an inscription written in Side language, the opinion that it must have been Lyrbe, an ancient Pamphylia city with the identity of a mountain city, and that Seleukeia should be located at another point that can be reached by the Manavgat Stream, gains weight.

Alanya

You can reach Alanya by local minibus and/or taxi. 37 km from the hotel. Alanya is a historical city of rare beauty that hosted pirates in ancient times, lords in the Byzantine period, and finally rose to the capital in the period of the Anatolian Seljuks. Alanya was located between Pamphylia and Cilicia in ancient times. According to Herodotus, the people of this region are descendants of the people who dispersed to Anatolia after the Trojan War. In the researches (Kadıini Cave-1957), it was understood that the first settlement dates back to the Upper Palaeotic Period, 20 thousand years ago. Its first known name in history is Coracesium. It was under the invasion of Persians in the 4th century BC. It later became a haven for pirates. In 139 BC, the Seleucid Empire invaded the city. But even after that, the city could not get rid of being a shelter for pirates. The city, which was joined to the lands of the Roman Empire by the Roman commander Magnus Pompeius in 65 BC, became Kalonoros, meaning "beautiful mountain" in the Byzantine period with the collapse of Rome.

Alanya Castle

Alanya Castle, located on a 10-hectare peninsula surrounded by 6km long walls; It has hosted Hellenistic, Roman, Byzantine, Seljuk and Ottoman civilizations.
Alanya, whose first foundation date and by whom it was founded is not known exactly, was first built in BC IV. century geographer Scylax refers to it as Corakesion (Coracesium). Strabo; He defines Korakesion as the first city to appear when Cilicia is entered from the west, and states that it was founded on a very steep rock that is difficult to capture.

Red Tower

Kızılkule, a unique example of the 13th century medieval Mediterranean defense structures; It was built by the builder Ebu Ali Reha el Kettani from Aleppo by the Seljuk ruler I. Alaaddin Keykubat in order to protect the port, shipyard and Alanya Castle against attacks from the sea.
Red Tower; It has attracted attention with its majestic appearance in the past as well as today and has taken its place in many books. Evliya Çelebi, one of the 17th century travelers; He states that Alanya Castle has a solid octagonal tower on the sea side, this tower took 2000 men during the siege, and the second castle guard sitting here had 40 soldiers.

Alanya Cable Car

Alanya Cable Car, which attracted a lot of attention, was a new way to visit Alanya Castle and the historical monuments in it. The view of Damlataş and Cleopatra Beaches makes the journey enjoyable while going up to the castle from the Damlataş Station located next to the Damlataş 100th Year Park. On the hill, the cable car comes to the lower part of Ehmedek. You can't get enough of the view of Alanya and the harbor from the various viewing terraces here. By climbing a few stairs, one passes through Ehmedek Castle, and from the viewing terraces here, you can't get enough of the bird's-eye view of Cleopatra Beach.

Dim cave

The cave, which is 11 km away from Alanya, is 232 m above sea level and is located on the western slope of Cebeli Reis Mountain.
Consisting of 4 galleries, Dim Cave is 360 m long, horizontal, 10-15 m wide and high. There are rich stalactites, stalagmites and travertine formations inside the cave. At the end of the cave, there is a small lake with 200 m² of water surface, 17 m deeper than the entrance.
It is the second largest cave in Turkey opened to visitors.

Sapadere canyon

Sapadere Canyon, located in Sapadere Village, east of Alanya District, is 750 meters long and has a height of approximately 400 meters. The canyon has been turned into a touristic area worth seeing with investments such as a walking path with steel supports on the canyon at the exit point of Sapadere Stream, and a recreation area built at the entrance of the canyon, and a country casino. Sapadere Canyon, which is 40 kilometers from Alanya and 175 kilometers from Antalya Airport, can be easily reached by the asphalt road that goes to Demirtaş Town from the Alanya-Gazipaşa highway. There is a waterfall worth seeing about 300 meters from the Sapadere Canyon entrance and a platform built using wood and steel construction materials at the place where this waterfall spills, which is built to not harm the environment and can be removed when necessary.
